Spirit and Truth: 3/24/13

Worship in Song

“What A Savior” by Philip Bliss and Devon Kauflin

As we sing this song, we remind each other of the horrific death that Jesus died in our place in order to redeem us. Though He knew no sin, he became sin for us. Although he was completely innocent, he was condemned and stood in our place. Sometimes there is no other response but to proclaim “Hallelujah! What a Savior!”

Man of Sorrows, what a name
For the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim, hallelujah
Bearing shame and scoffing rude
In my place condemned He stood
Sealed my pardon with His blood
Hallelujah, hallelujah

“How Deep The Father’s Love For Us” by Stuart Townend

I pray that God would write this truth on our hearts and stir our affections for Him as we sing about His cross!

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

We will continue in our Easter series: From The Grave. This week we’ll see what it means to be united with Christ in His death.
