Spirit and Truth: 3/17/13
Worship in Song
“Be Thou My Vision” by Mary Elizabeth Byrne and Eleanor Henrietta Hull
I love the simple prayer in the new chorus of this old song that so rightly expresses a plea for God to overcome us with Himself.
O God, be my everything, be my delight
My Savior, my Glory, my soul satisfied
“How Great Thou Art” by Stuart Wesley Keene Hine
How can a fallen people stand before a holy and righteous God? We sing the answer in the second verse of this song. Jesus is the answer! Jesus has died to take away our sin!
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
This week we’ll kick off our Easter series: From The Grave. As we walk through Romans 6, we’ll be learning what it means to be united with Christ in his death and resurrection.
