Spirit and Truth: 2/24/13
Worship in Song
“We Sing” by Joel Sczebel, Pat Sczebel, and Todd Twining
Praise God that while we were his enemies, He died for us to give us peace! We have been saved from the wrath of God by the blood of Jesus Christ and have been reconciled to God.
Your blood gave us peace with God
Your love has broken down our walls
How great You are
“Precious Children” by Meghan Baird, Abbott Jones, and Joel Sczebel
John writes in his Gospel, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” As believers, God no longer condemns us but counts us as His children. He loves us with the same love with which He loves His Son. Let’s worship Him for this beautiful truth!
We belong to You
You have washed our stains
And have raised us up with Christ
Precious children in Your eyes
“In Christ Alone” by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend
As we sing this song, we once again rehearse the awesome story of redemption that God has worked through Jesus Christ. We remember Christ’s humble incarnation and His sinless life. We recount His horrific crucifixion and His glorious resurrection. And, we rejoice in the great hope that we now have through His sacrifice.
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand
We’ve been working our way through The Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5. This week we’ll focus on verse 9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
