The story of The Point is a story of both vision and providence. The vision was for a church in Frankfort that would preach solid Biblical Truth, embrace modern worship and have a radical heart for reaching disconnected people.
The Point Community Church launched in January of 2006, as God led several men, women and children to step out in faith and start a church with a fresh vision of reaching Central Kentucky with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of our founding members were part of Crestwood Baptist Church on Frankfort’s east side.
Early in 2006, the initial core team and began meeting for visioncasting, prayer and worship. The Point began meeting weekly in a former skating rink on Frankfort’s southwest side. In May of 2006, The Point began gathering in a former factory building and we have been renovating this facility since then.
Though God has done so much already through The Point, we look forward in anticipation to seeing God accomplish things so big that only He can get the glory!
Our Vision Feeds Our Story
Many people in our area are disillusioned with religion. They have felt the sting of legalism with its impossible demands. Some have seen hypocrisy in the church. Some people may come from places where the doctrine wasn’t sound and teaching not Biblical. Others have had no religious background and therefore see Christianity as irrelevant. At The Point, it’s never about a religion but it’s always about a relationship.
It is our desire to be Kingdom minded in our approach and partner with other area churches to lift high the name of Jesus in this region. We are not concerned with being a big church, we just seek to be a healthy New Testament church that glorfies God and honors His Son. Afterall, healthy things grow. The Point is a unique church where there is a strong blend of modern style and Biblical Truth. We have a strong commitment to BEING the church by serving our community for the sake of the Gospel. We don’t GO to church anymore- we gather as the church and then depart to BE the church.
