So..who is the head of TPCC? Who’s in charge? – Christ, as the head of the church, rules by the power and authority of His word; therefore, all decisions within the The Point congregation are governed by what the Lord has revealed as His will in scripture.
Elders
We seek to be a truly Biblical, New Testament church in all that we do. One way this is expressed at The Point is in the areas of leadership as we implement Biblical Eldership. Essentially our elders serve as shepherds that guide the church. We believe that this leadership model, a plurality of elders, is a true Biblical model of church leadership.
The Bible teaches that elders are the leaders of the church who may also be called pastors, bishops, and overseers (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 4:11; 1 Peter 5:2). The elders are men chosen and called according to clear biblical requirements (1 Timothy 2:11-3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). The Bible also teaches that God intends for more than one man to lead and shepherd the church as a safeguard for both the church and the man. The elders’ duties include leading/ruling (1 Timothy 5:17) managing (1 Timothy 3:4-5), tending the flock/shepherding (1 Peter 5:2-5), giving account (Hebrews 13:17), living exemplary lives (Hebrews 13:7), using authority (Acts 20:28), teaching (Ephesians 4:11, 1 Timothy 3:2), preaching (1 Timothy 5:17), doctrinal instruction (Titus 1:9), and shepherding/discipline (Matthew 18:15-17)
Rick serves as the Lead Pastor at The Point, which he founded along with a group of Christians with a vision for a real and different church in Central Kentucky. Rick believes that The Point Church has a special and significant mission to advance the Gospel in CKY. He is a native of Lexington Ky and big Kentucky Wildcats fan. He and his wife of fifteen years, Paula, have a daughter, Linley Elizabeth.
Andy serves at The Point as an Elder and is part of the Preaching Team. Andy’s role encompasses many aspects of church-wide ministry. Andy and his wife Luanne, who sings in one of the praise bands, have two children: Kenedi and Grayson.
John serves as an Assoc. Pastor at The Point, giving oversight and leadership to Family Life and Worship ministries. John and his wife, Ashley, have one child, Ryan, and are in the process of adopting a baby from China. Before coming to the Point, John served in an Associate role at a church in Frankfort for over 11 years. John enjoys hunting, reading, boating and Pro football.
Frank and Vivian came to Frankfort from Nebraska. Frank works as an engineer with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. They have three sons and a really large dog, known as a Daytona, who has his own car for transporting him around.
Jason serves as part of the church planting team. Jason has returned to his home town of Indianapolis to plant REDEMPTION HILL CHURCH, after his time of training and development at The Point. He and his sweetheart bride, Marri, have been married for six years and have one son, Calvin.
Shane McGrath oversees adult ministires and Point Community Groups (PCG’s) He has also served as the Associate Director at Cedarmore Camp And Conference Center. Shane and his wife, Kari have three children: Myra, Lizzie and Nehemiah. Before coming to Kentucky, Shane and Kari served at a Christian College and Conference Center in Southern California. Shane enjoys hunting, theology and Indianapolis Colts football.
