This is the exciting world of children’s ministry at The Point! We believe that kids are not the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today and are a vital part of our vision and ministry here at The Point.

We are committed to investing time, resources and energy into the lives of children and their families. Our goal is to partner with parents to ensure that each child grows in their walk with God and in their understanding and application of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as they encounter Truth, Worship Jesus, learn to live in biblical Community and live on Mission each day.  Our desire is that each child will ultimately come to know Jesus and grow in that personal relationship.

Our dedicated team of teachers and volunteers serve unselfishly to model and teach the love of our Savior.  All children’s ministry workers at The Point have been screened, interviewed, trained, and tested and the environment in which children are taught and cared for during each worship service or midweek program is loving, fun, engaging, safe, competent and clean.  We absolutely LOVE kids at The Point!

While we value family worship, we offer Kidstyle Worship as an option during each of our Sunday morning gatherings.  This is a fun and engaging opportunity for children K-3rd grade to worship “Kidstyle” in a safe, loving, engaging environment while parents participate in corporate worship.  Children are dismissed to join their families to participate together in the larger setting following the message.

In a nutshell, we seek to offer life-changing children’s ministry where Jesus is magnified and God’s Word is creatively taught and expressed, where its unchanging truths are presented in ways that engage a child’s heart and mind, where shepherding children and equipping parents is intentional, where kids are safe to be who they are and ask questions, and where discovering God’s truth is exciting and fun!

Parents

The Point is a church that loves children, we also love the opportunity that we have to live in community with their families. The Bible clearly teaches that parents have been divinely appointed to raise their children and shepherd all aspects of their personhood, and we know that this is not an easy task! So, we are serious about shepherding parents in active and growing relationships with God in which they exemplify and actively impart to their child what it means to pursue God with their lives and fulfill their calling to build God’s Kingdom through the local church.

In our pursuit of learning truth from God and Scripture, we have found that the Bible is not ambiguous about raising children. God has made it clear that children are a blessing from Him, and parents are charged with the role of shaping their hearts to love and fear God. We want to be faithful with the responsibilities that God has given us, and we trust that when we are faithful with our children God will help up raise men and women that will have a God-ordained impact in our city for generations to come!

Along with this great responsibility and blessing of raising children, parents bear the same calling as every other person created by God for His purposes:  to know God, enjoy God, and fulfill a calling to build the local church. We understand it can be tricky to take on all that God intends for parents and that is why we are committed to living in active community where we can help and learn from each other. We love to provide meals for families with a “new addition” and facilitate opportunities for moms to connect with their children during the week. We provide quality childcare at all major church meetings, we have community groups with childcare, we conduct parenting classes, and we have a multitude of ways parents can get involved in building God’s kingdom through this church. We’re very glad to have you with us and look forward to living in thriving community with you and your children!

Curriculum

We believe that children can handle deep truth even at a young age. Their minds are like sponges and they memorize things almost effortlessly. So, our curriculum is intended to cultivate a strong knowledge of God and to immerse kids in the Bible at a very early age.

Many children’s ministry curriculum uses Bible stories to teach moral lessons and values. This approach misses the point by making the Bible out to be a moral guide instead of a book about Jesus! Our curriculum is designed to make the character of God and the person and work of Jesus central in every story and lesson. In all classrooms we sing, pray, tell Bible stories, ask questions, and work on craft projects all according to age groups.
