The Christmas Gathering

I look forward to gathering together as a faith family on Christmas Day. I know that Christmas falling on a Sunday can throw a hitch in our usual Christmas plans, but what an opportunity to focus on Jesus. We will sing songs that exalt Christ, read passages of Scripture that tell of His coming, and be reminded of His glory. We will have one gathering for both campuses at 11:00 a.m. at The Factory in Frankfort. Be sure to invite your entire family.

If I could sum up what the Christmas sentiment should be with one word I believe it would be, generosity.  Yes, generosity over merriment. As we take time to reflect on the coming and sacrifice of Christ we should see God’s benevolence being extended to humans. What moves the Father to give His only Son? His merciful loving kindness, His graciousness… in a form His generosity. This act and plan should cultivate the same attitude in us. Not just giving, but giving that flows from generous hearts moved by the greatest gift. We can give and exercise generosity in a multitude of ways this season.

One way that we display generosity corporately is through our annual Generous Offering. This offering will be collected during the Christmas Gathering. The monies collected will go to local ministry opportunities, national church planting efforts, and our international partnerships (Cambodia and Haiti). You can give on Sunday morning or online.

May Christ be exalted as we act generously this Christmas.
